Parts of Waves

Waves have many parts to them the picture above actually illustrates this.

The top part of waves are called crests, crests are like peaks of mountains only they are the peakes of waves. Waves also have a bottom zone as well, the lowest point of waves are the troughs . The wavelength is the distance from a crest to a crest or a trough to a trough, but the amplitude of waves is from the trough to the crest meaning it is the wave's height. There is also frequency which is how many waves pass a certain point in an amount of time, for example if waves are shorter and faster the frequency is bigger but if the waves are long and slow then the frequency of the wave is smaller. And obviously the wave speed is how fast a wave is moving.
